NHSP (New Horizon Seniors Program) can be divided into 3 years grant

• NHSP-2020 (Last rites Planning- Phase 1), See Phase1: below

• NHSP-2023 (Last Rites planning-Phase 2), See Phase2: below

• NHSP-2025 ( Nepalese Canadian Seniors: Cultivating Wellness and Heritage)

Phase 1:

• Identify challenges faced by the community when planning last rites

• Recognize the need of estate planning assistance (will & power of attorney)

Phase 2:

• MOU signed with Park Place Funeral Home, Chapel & Crematorium Ltd.

• Estate planning workshops & Will clinics

• Create endowment/reserve fund

• Funding of $25,000 (Establishment of a reserved fund)

• NHSP grant of $24,500 received and tablet was distributed to seniors, Will and estate planning workshop, Wills preparation for community members, MOU with funeral house & Establishment of reserved fund

• The Park Place Funeral Home is interested to have a MoU with NECASE to provide service to the Nepali Community
